Friendship Ventures launched its three year capital campaign called More Than Love to help meet some urgent, yet basic needs in the areas of food, shelter, health and safety.
Off to a great start
By any measure, the first year of the three-year Friendship Ventures More Than Love capital campaign was a huge success. We are grateful to the individuals, service organizations, corporations and foundations whose generosity made this achievement possible.
This strong start allowed us to begin construction of the new dining hall, pictured below, in April, 2009. It was completed in December, at a substantially reduced cost due to generous donations from vendors and countless hours of volunteer labor. The new dining hall is not only beautiful but also one third larger than before and features a private dining room for campers with sensitivity to noise. Our participants with disabilities will certainly benefit.
Other needs remain
The dining hall represents a huge step forward, but significant needs remain in the areas of shelter (for new and remodeled cabins) and health and safety (for new construction and remodeling of Health Care Centers). Our goal is an additional $405,000.
We invite you to be a part of the More Than Love campaign by considering a generous gift or pledge to this exciting project. To find out more, please call our CEO, Ed Stracke, directly at 952.852.0111.
