American Camp Association
Friendship Venturesis a member of the American Camp Association and its resident camp programs (Camp Friendship, Eden Wood Center and Camp New Hope) participate in the accreditation program. The accreditation program addresses 300 nationally recognized standards that apply to specific areas of programming, health care, personnel, administration, site, facilities and management practices that relate specifically to camp services. To achieve accreditation (or re-accreditation), each camp must fully comply with each of the applicable mandatory standards and attain scores of at least 80 percent in each applicable section of standards. American Camp Association representatives visit each location every three years to assure compliance, and on non-visitation years Friendship Ventures signs an Annual Statement of Compliance.
