Sample of a speech by David Ring (Father of Kelsey) "In 1992 at team of UCLA neurosurgeons ... removed the “defective” half of Kelsey’s brain! ... In 1998, Kelsey’s mom (my wife) had surgery and struggled to recover/survive. Now, I was scrambling to care for a special needs daughter and a sick wife, who had done most of the care for Kelsey! Annette struggled through meds and chemo, but after 20 months was unable to fight anymore, and died at age 40. .... I was introduced to Eden Wood by Kelsey’s social worker. ... I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in and found a group of young friendly women waiting to learn about and have fun with Kelsey." INFORMATIONAL TOURS AND EVENTS ...... the springboard to "catching the vision" of enhancing the lives of people with disabilities. The Initiative has greatly expanded our circle of friends resulting in hundreds of additional campers being able to participate because of scholarship discounts.
