Please be our guest for a Friendship in Action Luncheon

At

      Major’s Sports Café, Roseville, MN

     12:00 Noon, Tuesday, October 16th

In and Out in 60 Minutes

David Ring (Father of Kelsey) will be one of our speakers.  (Kelsey is pictured above with Friendship Ventures staff.)

Here's a short preview of Davids speech:

In 1992 at team of UCLA neurosurgeons performed a hemispherectomy – where they removed the “defective” half of Kelsey’s brain!  Removing the damaged part of her brain allowed the healthy half to take over – although they advised us that some functions for her right side would NOT bridge, and she would most definitely have some limitations. It was a LONG and CHALLENGING year.  At her first birthday in July, she weighed in at a whopping 16 lb.

In 1998, Kelsey’s mom (my wife) had surgery and struggled to recover/survive.  Now, I was scrambling to care for a special needs daughter and a sick wife, who had done most of the care for Kelsey!  Annette struggled through meds and chemo, but after 20 months was unable to fight anymore, and died at age 40.

I was introduced to Edenwood by Kelsey’s social worker.  She’d heard good things about it, and since I was very much in need of a weekend away, decided to try them.

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in and found a group of young friendly women waiting to learn about and have fun with Kelsey.
