Our Staffing

Our staff and volunteers are the single most important factor in each camper’s experience! Our tradition of caring, talented and enthusiastic counselors has not come by accident.

  • We require our direct care staff and volunteers to complete a comprehensive training program to ensure they are prepared to work successfully with our participants and their variety of special needs. During this training they learn  innovative activities and varied program adaptations. We also prepare staff to deal with the developmental, medical and behavioral needs of campers, and to keep them safe and healthy.
  • Both staff and volunteers are required to go through an extensive interview process and background check, including the National Sex Offender Registry.
  • We maintain strict compliance with both the Minnesota Department of Health and the American Camp Association.  Click here for more information about their oversight.
  • The ratio of staff/volunteers to participants ranges between 1:1 and 1:5, depending on each participant’s needs.
