Camp New Hope Kitchen Staff (2 Needed) |
Responsible for leading the Camp New Hope kitchen in food preparation, menu planning, food ordering, food service quality, customer service, kitchen cleanliness, proper food handling standards, assisting with food budget and meeting health department standards. |

Counselor
|
Typically, 2-4 counselors work together to support 8-10 participants with activities, social interaction and personal care to ensure a quality experience for all. Must be able and willing to meet the direct-care and recreational needs of participants; be physically strong and mentally alert; work well with others and enjoy helping others. APPLY>> |

Recreation Leader
|
Prefer student majoring in recreation, physical education or therapeutic recreation, or experience planning and leading recreational activities. Will plan/lead recreational activities for children/adults of all ability levels. Assist with direct care. APPLY>> |

Camping Leader

Day Trip Leader
|

Counselor in Training (CIT) |
Assist with direct care, adapt activities to participants’ individual needs and ensure a quality experience for all participants. Usually a high school student, age 16-18. Must be able and willing to meet the direct-care and recreational needs of participants; be physically strong and mentally alert; work well with others and enjoy helping others. APPLY>> |

Lifeguard |
Guard in various environments, clean and maintain waterfront facilities, assist with boating and other waterfront activities, assist with direct care. Participate in leading all camp and village activities. Must have current lifeguard and CPR certifications. WSI and first-aid certifications helpful. APPLY>> |

Weekend Lifeguard |
Responsible for safety of campers and staff during all aquatic activities. Will assist with instruction for adjusting to water, learning to swim, and adapted activities. Should be at least 18 years old and should have previous experience with waterfront supervision and swimming instruction. A W.S.I. Certificate or an equivalent is preferred and certification in Lifeguard Training is required. Current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer is required. APPLY>> |

Boat Driver
|
Responsible for driving the boat for all tubing activities. Assist in providing a safe environment for campers involved in waterfront activities. Some experience driving boats/watercraft preferred. Must be 21 and have a good driving record. APPLY> |

Respite Counselor Camp Friendship only |
Responsible for the health, personal care needs, safety, planning of activites and general welfare of all participants involved in the weekend respite care. Will assist individuals with physical disabilities or other limitations who need support with eating, walking, transferring, toileting, etc. 1-4 weekends per month. High school graduate, preferably in college; however, successful volunteer and/or Junior Counselor experience at Friendship Ventures may be an acceptable substitute for age requirement. Must be physically and emotionally strong, creative, and flexible. Must be able to communicate effectively and accept constructive comments as well as compliments. Able to work well with others. Nature Leader |

Canteen Manager
|
Work day-to-day operations of the Canteen, which include sales, record keeping, inventory management, organization and cleanliness of store, assist with direct care, participate in leading all camp and village activities. Prefer student in sales with financial skills. APPLY>> |

Public Relations Assistant |
Take cabin and activity photos, record video tape of activities and campers, write daily newsletter and staff/volunteer press releases, assist with direct care. Prefer student or graduate with public relations, marketing or communications major. APPLY>> |

HR Assistant |
Prefer a college student or graduate majoring in human resources, communications, or related field. Will interview candidates, and perform reference checks. Will schedule orientation and assist staff with travel plans. Assists with transportation as needed. Meets and greets new staff members. Will be “the back bone” of orientation to all those staff who arrive after camp has begun. Completes assigned classes of orientation. Fishing Guide |
Lead groups and teach the art of fishing to all ages and abilities, maintain gear and supplies, assist with direct care, participate in leading all camp and village activities. APPLY>> |

Ropes Course Facilitator |
Lead group games and initiatives, assist with direct care, participate in leading all camp and village programs. Must be enthusiastic, work independently, safety minded and successfully complete Friendship Ventures training. APPLY>> |

Aquatic Manager |
Assist with direct care . Requires experience working with waterfront/pool environment, knowledge of watercraft and fishing equipment, experience in small group management, current lifeguard, first aid and CPR certificates. WSI helpful. APPLY>> |

Special Diet/ |
Under the direction of the Camp Friendship site director, the Special Diet/Nutrition intern is directly responsible to develop alternative menus & prepare special diet meals for Conference & Retreat, camp, respite services and staff events. APPLY>> |

Respite Coordinator |
The Respite Coordinator should be at least 21 years of age, and/or be an approved driver for the agency. A college major in a related field is preferred but experience in the field of developmental disabilities is an acceptable substitute. Experience in a supervisory role for one or more years in a camp/respite setting and/or strong knowledge of the program is required. Will provide leadership and supervision for the respite staff, campers and volunteers and to serve as a role model for all involved in the respite care program. Village Leader |
Supervise and support all village staff;. provide daily support and encouragement by helping in the cabin, solving problems, promoting team work and open communication; run weekly meetings with village staff and meet with individuals to discuss their work in cabins;. work with other village leaders to plan events and weekend trips; act as liaison for caregivers and counselors. Should be at least 21 years old. A college major in a related field is preferred, but experience in the field of developmental disabilities may be an acceptable substitute. One or more years of residential camp experience, preferably in a camp for people with developmental disabilities. APPLY>> |

Health and Medications Aid |
A health and medication aid is required to have CPR/First Aid certification or equivalent. The medication aid may be a graduate nurse, nursing student, or other healthcare major with clinical experience. The medication aid will reside in the health center living area and rotate on-call status. The medication aid will provide health care to staff and campers, under the supervision of the camp nurse; administer medication and write camper profiles; and provide teaching and training of healthcare related topics to staff. Counseling and |
A counseling and health aid is required to have CPR/First Aid certification or equivalent. The health aid may be a first or second year nursing student, certified nursing assistant or college student/graduate student with personal care experience. The health aid will reside in their assigned cabins with campers and other counselors. The health aid will provide direct care to campers, including personal cares; monitor camper special diet needs; administer simple treatments and first aid; and assist healthcare staff in providing supportive care for chronic medical needs. Camp Nurse Eden Wood Center only |
Applicant must have a valid Minnesota RN license. RN will provide supervision to health care staff, provide care for campers and staff, write camper profiles, and administer medications. Transportation Manager/ Weekend Host Full for 2012 |
The transportation manager/weekend host should be a college student or graduate and at least 21 years of age. Hold a valid U.S. driver license, and has a clean driver’s record with no more than one moving violation within the past three years. Preferred knowledge of local area or willingness to navigate around city and rural areas. Live in position. APPLY>>

Cooking Leader
|
Teach campers about cooking in cooking sessions. Must be organized, clean, and have a love for and experience in cooking and baking. |

Volunteer Village Leader |
Will train and supervise youth and adult volunteers each wee, help plan and facilitate the Youth Leadership Program (for volunteers) and supervise the volunteers all day and overnight in the volunteer house. Will act as liaison for caregivers, volunteers, and counselors, in supporting campers.The Volunteer Village leader should be at least 21 years of age. A college major in a related field (youth management/leadership, human services, etc) is preferred, but experience in the field of developmental disabilities may be an acceptable substitute. One or more years of residential camp experience, preferably in a camp for people with developmental disabilities is preferred. |

Music Leader |
Plan and lead music activities, assist with direct care, participate in leading all camp and village activities. Prefer student majoring in music, music education or music therapy with relevant experience. |
