Special Interest Sessions

Special interest sessions offered during resident camp focus on a leisure activity for a portion of the camper’s stay, while also allowing them to enjoy all the other traditional activities. I ♥ Critters
Animals are wonderful critters!  Spend time caring for the camp’s farm animals.  A trip to a local farm or petting zoo to learn from their specialists about goats, sheep, pigs and other activities will be a highlight of this session.

Horsing Around
If you love horses, these sessions are for you!  Learn basic riding fundamentals and how to feed, groom, saddle a horse and, of course, ride. more                                                               

Friendship Art Studio
Perfect for the budding artist!  Create cool art projects...dabble in watercolors, mosaics, splatter paints and chalk art.  Display your work in the Friendship Art Gallery at the end of the week.

Shirt Tales
Learn the fabulous art of fabric design in our Shirt Tales session. Our staff will teach you about fabric painting, tye-dyeing, stenciling and more. Try your hand at leatherwork, too!
 

Ethnic Cooking
Learn how to make your own ethnic meal.  We will put a healthy take on appetizers, side dishes, main dishes and dessert.  Come home with recipes and confidence to make your own.

Baking Buddies
Forget cooking, let’s bake! Join your buddies in the kitchen making new baking creations together. Each day, the group will work together to bake delicious snacks, desserts, and treats. At the end of the week you’ll go home with the recipes of the creations you made during the week so you can make them at home too!

Canoeing
Relax and enjoy canoeing around Birch Island Lake at Camp Eden Wood. Throughout the week, you’ll learn new canoeing strokes and how to properly steer a canoe. Each day you’ll get the pleasure of canoeing around the lake and enjoying your new hobby/past time!

Karate
Partnered with JK Martial Arts, participants will have the opportunity to learn and develop Karate skills. Learn a little bit about the history of Karate and how do some of the moves. The week concludes with a demonstration and belt ceremony during the Camp Eden Wood talent show. Participants will earn a yellow stripe on a white belt through this program.

The Big Splash
A celebration for those who love water, water sports and water games. This week will provide lots of water fun, including swimming, canoeing, paddle boats, fishing, a beach party and Eden Wood's famous water carnival and a visit to a water park. Make sure to pack your swimsuit and towel.
