Respite Counselor Camp Friendship and Eden Wood Center |
Responsible for the health, personal care needs, safety, planning of activites and general welfare of all participants involved in the weekend respite care. Will assist individuals with physical disabilities or other limitations who need support with eating, walking, transferring, toileting, etc. 1-4 weekends per month. High school graduate, preferably in college; however, successful volunteer and/or Junior Counselor experience at Friendship Ventures may be an acceptable substitute for age requirement. Must be physically and emotionally strong, creative, and flexible. Must be able to communicate effectively and accept constructive comments as well as compliments. Able to work well with others. Must attend a week-long orientation at the start of the summer. APPLY>>

Health and |
Provide health care to staff and campers, under supervison of camp nurse, administer medications and write camper profiles. May be a graduate nurse, nursing student or other health care major (EMT, physician's assitent, pre-med) or individual with experience in a health care setting, and with clinical experience that includes skills assessment and medication administration. First aid and/or CPR certification or equivalent is required. Reside in Health Center cabin and rotate on-call status. APPLY>> |

Laundry/ |

Dining Hall Staff |

Counseling and |

Weekend Respite
|
RN or LPN to assist with weekend respite care check-in and screen health care needs of children and adults. Must be available to answer questions or visit camp as needed to assist with medical issues. Position available year-round, Fridays, 6-9 p.m. and/or on call. APPLY>> |

Program Specialist |
Live-in position with 3-12 month commitment year around. Each position varies with programming needs. Work with respite, Team Quest, summer camp and retreats. APPLY>> |

Program Specialist, Volunteer and |
This is a year-round, temporary position (start date: April 2011). Must have high school diploma or equivalent. College diploma or certificate preferred, but not required. Experience working in Human Resources or working with people with disabilities and working in a camp setting is preferred. Microsoft Word and Excel experience is preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age with a clean driving record. On-site shared housing provided at Camp Friendship in Annandale. Will assist in the recruitment of staff for all Friendship Ventures programs incorporating online advertising, attending job fairs, interviewing, completing references and hiring seasonal staff members, including completing employment paperwork. Will assist in the training of staff for all programs. Will work direct care with our campers with disabilities two weekends per month. Will assist in camper recruitment tours and phone calls. Respite Specialist |
This is a year-round, temporary position (start date: July 2011) Must have high school diploma or equivalent. College diploma or certificate preferred. Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred but not required. Experience working in a camp setting preferred. Microsoft Word and Exel experience is preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age with a clean driving record. On-site shared housing provided in Eden Wood Center, Eden Prairie. Will assist in the camper recruitment, staff scheduling, weekend planning and implementation of the year-round weekend Respite Program. Will work at least two weekends per month for the Respite Program, will conduct Friday night Respite check-in 3 weekends per month. Will prepare and set up for upcoming Respite weekends. Preparation includes (but not limited to): calling and confirming upcoming campers, staffing, creation of the schedule, respite plan and special diets, staff treats and other duties assigned by supervisor.
